Good Lock for Samsung: 20 modules that reshape One UI
Good Lock is Samsung's own app for fine-tuning the One UI shell on Galaxy phones: a set of modules, each responsible for the home screen, lock screen, gestures, sound or camera. Here is what the modules do and which ones to start with.
What Good Lock is and where to get it
Good Lock installs from the Galaxy Store and, on recent One UI versions, from Google Play. It is a catalogue: the app itself changes nothing, you install only the modules you need. The set depends on the model and the interface is in English. The main advantage over third-party launchers: modules work at system level and do not break updates.
For us Good Lock is a good product example: a catalogue of independent modules, each solving one task without breaking the rest. Website settings deserve the same design.
Appearance modules
The Makeup group controls how the phone looks.
- Theme Park: your own themes from wallpapers and colours, icons, folders, keyboard, quick panel; supports third-party icon packs.
- Home Up: home grid up to 7×7, icon labels, blur, large folders, pop-up windows.
- LockStar and ClockFace: lock screen layout and dozens of clock styles.
- QuickStar: status bar, hiding unnecessary indicators, toggle styling.
- Keys Cafe: keyboard builder with layout, key shape, colours and sounds.
- Wonderland: live wallpapers that react to tilt and touch.
Convenience modules
The Life Up group changes behaviour rather than looks.
- One Hand Operation +: invisible side zones for gestures: back, home, screenshot, notification shade.
- NavStar: navigation button size and gesture bar sensitivity.
- Nice Shot and NotiStar: quick screenshot actions and a searchable notification history.
- Sound Assistant: volume step, per-app levels, audio split between devices.
- Display Assistant: per-app screen rules for brightness, refresh rate and timeout.
- Edge Touch, Camera Assistant, RegiStar, Routines +, MultiStar, Game Booster +: dead zones, camera options, back-tap actions, automation, multitasking and game profiles.
Where to start and what to avoid
A sensible starter set: Theme Park for a consistent look, QuickStar for the status bar, One Hand Operation + for gestures, Sound Assistant for audio, Nice Shot for screenshots. Add the rest when a concrete need appears.
Two warnings from practice. Complex video wallpapers on AMOLED noticeably drain the battery. Wide Edge Touch dead zones block side interface elements. And do not overload the lock screen: time and unlock should read instantly.

Good Lock is the safest way to make a Galaxy look nothing like stock: no root, no third-party launchers, no risk to updates. Install five basic modules, give yourself two or three days to get used to gestures, then add more as needed.
